2006 look back

February 2006

Long time team of Rene McComb and Bob Angello landed some huge hybrids in the February tournament for the Percy Priest Hybrid and Striper Club. Unfortunately our fish laid on the pavement for 45 minutes as the scales were late and we finished in 2nd place just .02 pounds out of first.

Tims Ford in April was the setting and big stripers were the game in this tournament. Team Striper Addiction Bait Company fished live bait and trolled to place second.

Three days of competition with the last two days counting for the money and prizes, Team Triton combined their efforts with Team Striper Addiction Bait Company to finish in second place. With a two-day money bracket weight of over 61 pounds and a three day total weight of over 91 pounds, the team proved once again that you can't do better with artificial baits then Striper Addiction Products. None of the more than 45 fish caught by the team during the competition were landed on live bait. Considering the fact that over 95% of the field was using live bait in one form or another, you might say that Striper Addiction products out fish live bait 9.5 to  In addition to the second place Gold Cup finish, it should be noted that the team also won the Saturday Middle Tennessee Club tournament and the TWT for the NSBA in the same weekend.

Captain Tommy Jacobs and first mate Don Schleicher took top honors in the first Middle Tennessee Striped Bass Club Championship. Using the Parachute Rig and the Hot Pink/White Slab Spoon as the main bait. The team boated 30 fish ranging to 14 pounds in the first hour of fishing. All they had to do was wait for the weigh-in and collect. Nicely done and proving once again you don't need to waist your time catching bait in order to win a tournament. Nothing like getting your butt kicked by your own stuff.
